Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV AGUSTA has released details of the SCS (Smart Clutch System) which has been fitted to its new Turismo Veloce Lusso 800 SCS model.
AMCN is presently attending the world launch of the new MV Agusta model where details of the Rekluse-based clutch system have been revealed to the media ahead of tomorrow’s test ride.
The semi-automatic Smart Clutch System offers a choice of two riding styles. The rider can manipulate a clutch lever traditionally, or at the flick of a switch make the clutch lever obsolete. The SCS system will automatically engage and disengage the clutch at a certain point in the rev range. Combining the SCS system with the up-and-down quick shifter makes the new Turismo Veloce Lusso 800 SCS and truly semi-automatic performance motorcycle.
The MV Agusta press release claims the system is designed to improve rider comfort and reduce stress, but we are already salivating at the performance boost the system will provide to the already glorious triple-cylinder 800cc engine.
The new SCS system is just one of an impressive number of riding aids and performance parts available on the new MV Agusta touring model.
Look out for more social media updates over the next 24 hours, and our first-ride thoughts on amcn.com.au as soon as we have tested the bike. Our full world launch report will appear in an upcoming issue of Australian Motorcycle News magazine.
