A special online auction of a one-off artwork featuring the 2008 championship winning Ducati of three-time Superbike World Champion
Troy Bayliss launched on eBay today to raise awareness for Beyond Blue.
The artwork is one of seven original works on display at the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show presented by Shannons Insurance at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) this weekend.
Created by emerging Australian artist Kris Hartas the hyperrealism artwork was drawn with unipin pens and took over 190 hours to complete.
Bidding on the unique piece will close at 9.40am (AEST) on Monday 4 December. Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated to Beyond Blue with the other fifty percent to go to the artist.
Hartas said drawing such a technical subject as a motorcycle takes time, attention and patience.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show in Sydney,” Hartas said. “Coming off the back of my first solo exhibition in May I’m excited to see how my motorcycle works will be received.
“Beyond Blue is a great charity that helps people suffering from depression and anxiety. I was really pleased to have the opportunity to create this special artwork with Troy that will raise funds and awareness for a fantastic cause.”
“I’ve always found motorcycles cool but coming from a design background I was always more interested in how they look and how everything fits together. Drawing such a technical subject takes time and above all, a lot of patience.
Showcasing the latest motorcycles, scooters, ATV’S, side-by-sides and much more the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show will give visitors the opportunity to engage with industry experts, test ride a range of both adults and children’s motorcycles as well as be entertained by a full program of demonstrations, stunts, and special features.
