Australia’s SWM importer Mojo Motorcycles, has told AMCN that it has not renewed its agreement with SWM. Consequently, no new SWM products will be introduced in Australia in the foreseeable future.
For existing motorcycle owners, SWM importer Mojo Motorcycles has assured that support will continue to be provided in terms of spare parts, service and warranty backup.
Most recently there were only two SWM enduro models offered in Australia, the RS300R and the RS500R. The range also previously included the parallel twin SWM Superdual X adventure bike.
SWM motorcycles are produced in the former Husqvarna factory in Lombardia in the north of Italy, and the current generation SWM models are derived from Husqvarna models.
In overseas markets, SWM offers both road and off-road applications, with a full range of bikes including adventure models, naked bikes, scramblers, enduro machines and even sidecar outfits. The announcement by Mojo Motorcycles is disappointing in that it means the mooted SWM 1200 Stormbreaker cruiser will not be introduced in Australia in the foreseeable future… unless, of course, SWM can find another distributor.
