These RST riding gloves are part of the brand’s IOM TT signature range and retain the stitched quilted styling of the three retro leather jacket models. For such a simple looking glove they really are packed full of features. There’s Polyurethane knuckle armour embedded within the soft aniline leather upper, a cuff tab to help you pull them on, and well placed padding to protect the back of your fingers and that bulbous lump on the end of your wrist. They also have a very simple and effective Velcro wrist strap, and an extra layer of leather on the outer edge of the little finger – which always seems to bear the brunt of road rash when things go wrong.

We liked

The feel of these gloves is incredible thanks to the soft aniline leather and internal lining. They transmit loads of feedback from the controls, and although the leather construction stops wind in its tracks they’re still suitable for riding in hot, dry weather.

We didn’t like

They’re long for a ‘short cut’ glove, but this design can result in some skin exposed on the wrist where the glove meets your jacket cuff at full stretch. Apart from that, what’s not to like!

Verdict

These gloves are supple and smooth with more protection than you’d expect for their classic styling and bargain price tag. If you’re looking for an understated, but high quality mitt, look no further!

Knuckle protection

Short cut
