The top two riders from the Mini GP Cup series are invited to the MotoGP World Championship in Valencia to race for World Championship seats.

The FIM Mini GP Cup Australia series is open to youngsters aged 10-14 years old and features racing of the Italian Ohvale GP0-160cc motorcycles on go-kart tracks.

Sixteen countries are taking part in the 2022 Series conducted under the auspices of the governing body of global motorcycle sport, the Federation Internationale Motorcycliste, and Dorna

The top two place-getters from each national series are invited to the final round of the MotoGP World Championship at Valencia in Spain on 2-3 November to determine the victor of the FIM MiniGP World Cup.

The major reward for the overall international winner of the World Cup is guaranteed an opening to the world of MotoGP with a ride in the Junior World Championship, next year. Other opportunities will be available to skilled riders in championship such as the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

This weekend is a double header at the revamped Oakleigh Go Kart Track at South Clayton including two races for each round for the FIM MiniGP Championship.

14 year old Sydney sider, Harrison Watts leads Teerin Fleming (younger brother of Varis) by 20 points with Levi Russo a further 19 points behind in third. A rapid young Melbourne lass, Ella McCausland will be sure to be in the mix, too. A very fast and talented learner in her first year of racing.

There are a variety of other classes racing, including a Veteran Class that has seen the likes of Glenn Allerton and Scott Charlton take part on the faster Ohvale 190 machines.
