In the days leading up to this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, we asked our online AMCN reader to tell us which rider they would be cheering loudest for at this weekend’s MotoGP event. Not surprisingly, Aussie hero Jack Miller came out on top, netting 25 per cent of all votes lodges via our online survey. But it was the second and third ranked riders that went against the traditional yellow VR46 tide. Ducati factory racer, Italian Andrea Dovizioso, ran a close second to Miller with 23.21 percent of the votes, with Valentino Rossi third with 20.54 per cent of the votes.
Marc Marquez, the man who will sit on the #1 grid position for tomorrow’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, was the fourth most popular rider with 16.07 per cent of the votes.
Interestingly, Honda’s Dani Pedrosa with 3.57 per cent polled ahead of Maverick Vinales (0.89 per cent), Danilo Petrucci (0.89 per cent), Johann Zarco (0.85 per cent) and Suzuki’s Andrea Iannone (0.00 per cent).
