Set to go on sale before the end of this year, it applies the normal bobber touches to the existing 1133cc Scout.
Out go the hefty fenders, replaced by shortened versions, and the rear suspension is lowered by 25mm. A new cartridge fork at the front has also been added, the footpegs have been moved back by 38mm, while flatter ‘tracker’ ’bars have been fitted.
The normal engine is carried over, producing 70kW and 97Nm, along with the same cast aluminium frame as the stock Scout. The tank is also the same as the normal model’s, albeit sporting new badges. A new, black headlight nacelle, new exhaust heat shields and black wheels fitted with chunky-treaded rubber complete the Bobber’s look.
Although the heritage of bobbers dates back to the post-war period when riders would cut back fenders to save weight and increase performance, the same trick doesn’t make a big difference to the mass of the Scout Bobber. Complete with a tank of fuel it comes in at 255kg, which is just 2kg less than the normal Scout. Prices and an on-sale date have yet to be announced, but Indian says the bike will reach dealers before the end of 2017.
