Aleix Espargaró has been diagnosed with a heel fracture in his right foot following medical checks at a hospital in Barcelona.
Aleix had a huge high-side during FP4 at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix 5-7 August, and took some time getting to his feet. He continued on through the weekend however, first through qualifying and then the entire race on Sunday. Recent medical examinations have revealed he suffered a fracture to his heel which fortunately, does not require surgery.
Aleix has been prescribed 7 days of complete rest with crutches to keep the weight off the injury.
He aims to return to the next MotoGP round in Austria in 2 weeks in better physical condition and ready to race.
