MotoStars, the promoter of the Australian Supermoto Championship (ASMC) and Australian Junior Road Racing Championship (AJRC), have confirmed that due to issues arising outside their control, the first round of the ASMC and AJRC has been forced to move to another venue.
With the Greer Park Raceway, located near Towoomba, Queensland, currently under investigation in relation to noise complaints the opening round has been forced to move to the Pacific Park Raceway in Port Macquarie, NSW.
“All I can do is apologise to our competitors and our regular customers in Queensland for the inconvenience this has caused” said MotoStars promoter Damian Cudlin. “The Lockyer Valley Regional Council have been extremely helpful in trying to resolve some of the issues we’ve been facing, but unfortunately there’s just not enough time for us to find a solution.
“Thankfully we’ve found an alternative on short notice, which means that Round 1 of the ASMC and AJRC will still go ahead as planned, albeit at another venue.”
The date of the event will remain on March 2-3, 2019, with updated supplementary regulations being provided to all previously entered competitors.
All other upcoming MotoStars events at the venue have been cancelled, including this Sunday’s ride day on the 10th of February.
