“We are excited to see the 650MT to finally make it to Australia,” said CFMoto Australia Director Michael Poynton. “It will be great to prove how capable the CFMoto product is in the adventure touring market.”
It has been four years (2012) since the very first large capacity road bike from CFMoto, the 650NK, was introduced and was well received in Australia revving up the LAMS scene.
CFMoto 650MT’s beauty is crafted by the strategic partnership of CFMoto and design powerhouse Kiska, who is renowned for its design of KTM motorcycles since the nineties. Recent works of the joint venture are reflected on the NK motorcycle range and now on the newly released 650MT.
The MT features the same power plant as the 650NK, a 649.3cc liquid cooled in line twin, 8-valve, DOHC with Bosch EFI, boasting 41.5KW at 9500rpm and 62NM of torque at 7000rpm (LAMS restricted).
Long travel suspension front and rear with new USD front forks to handle the tough Aussie terrain on and off the bitumen.
For stopping power ABS brakes will be available and the MT uses a similar set up to the 650NK with twin front 300mm discs and 240mm single disc at the rear.
Standard features will be a large wind defection screen, 18-litre fuel tank for extended range and LED lighting all round.
“650MT will be the bike to take you on your next weekend adventure and not break the bank,” said Poynton, “it will be a highly capable and durable bike, just take a look at the 650NK.”
The 650MT will be LAMS approved and expected to be available in the first quarter of 2017.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
