Jack Miller (Honda) and Mike Jones (Ducati) have impressed in the first MotoGP free practice session of the 2016 Australia Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island. Battling wet, slippery and windy conditions Miller (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) completed the session in fourth position while Mike Jones (Avintia Racing) completed the 45-minute session in 14th overall.
Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) posted the fastest time of the session (1m40.957s), closely followed by Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) with a 1m40.998s and Danilo Petrucci (1m41.010s) with Miller fourth. The MotoGP bikes will return for Free Practice 2 at 3:30pm.
