Piaggio’s new Medley 150 has hit Australian roads, providing a little touch of Italian style to Aussie commuting.
Powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 11kW at 8250rpm, the Medley is a lightweight commuter (132kg) with plenty of large scooter features, including large aluminium alloy wheels (F:16-inch and R:14-inch) and plenty of luggage capacity.
Standard features include a Start & Stop function to improve fuel economy and ABS. The new four-stroke engine is from the new i-Get family. It’s a liquid-cooled, four-valve engine with electronic fuel injection.
The low, single cradle type frame is also new. Made from steel tubing, reinforced with pressed steel using a design which allows a low seat height of 799mm. The front-end has a 33mm fork with a pair of preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers and coil springs at the rear. The front leg shield has a spacious glove compartment that can be easily accessed from the rider’s seating position.
The innovative LED daylight running lights and headlight are a high-quality feature and the seat has an electric opening latch controlled by a button on the handlebar as well as the traditional mechanical latch located in the glove compartment.
