A raft of new patents show Yamaha’s three-wheeled MWT-9 concept bike could be made in multiple versions.
Most interesting is that one of them shows an unfaired version of the bike, rather than the original concept’s half-fairing. When the MWT-9 was first shown it appeared destined for production, but the firm has remained quiet about it since. These new patents suggest the project is still alive. With the biennial Tokyo Motor Show due at the end of 2017, perhaps we will see the production version there.
