Daniel Falzon and Liam Wilkinson have won one of Australia’s richest road races,  the Adelaide 3 Hour, finishing three laps ahead of the field.

On a day of extreme hot weather the pair led from start to finish on their R1 Yamahas to pocket $4000. They had earlier won $500 for setting pole.

Second place went to Will Strugnell (Kawasaki ZX10) and John Hunt (ZX10).

Nine laps back in third was the newly-formed Peter Stevens Adelaide Yamaha R1 team of Gary Smith, Ben North and Sean Kordic.

After just nine laps Falzon had lapped half the field of 17 teams. Despite a 12-lap pace car interruption he and Wilkinson completed a record 151 laps.
