A Quick Spin review is exactly as it sounds – quick. It’s simply a few days buzzing around on a bike to get a bit of a feel for what it has to offer, or not, before it goes back to the manufacturer.
A long-termer bike, on the other hand, is given a warts-and-all look over and tested under everyday conditions. After enduring some general commuter duties for our Quick Spin review in the last issue of AMCN, the Sol Invictus Nemesis XY400 has now joined our long-term fleet. Over the next four months it will be put through its paces by a team of testers made up of a learner rider, a returning rider, and an experienced rider. We will also be looking into ways the air-cooled 400cc single-cylinder retro bike can be customised into a cool café racer. It will be interesting to see if the styled-in-Australia, Chinese-built bike will be accepted by the cool-haired, bearded section of the motorcycle community. There’s only one way to find out – reach for the open-face helmet and goggles and ride.
