Benelli has ripped the covers off its 2022 Leocino 800 with the new machine retaining the retro theme and family resemblance of its Leoncino 500 sibling while packing more punch.
At the heart of Leoncino 800 is the Euro5 compliant 754cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, twin-cylinder engine that delivers a claimed 56 kW at 8500 rpm and a 67 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. The 800 runs double overhead camshafts actuating four valves per cylinder, with fuel fed to the engine by twin 43 mm diameter throttle bodies.
The parallel-twin is slotted into an all-new tubular trellis with steel plates, with suspension duties handled by fully-adjustable 50mm USD Marzocchi forks up front and preload and rebound adjustable monoshock on the rear.
Braking responsibilities are taken care of by Brembo, with twin 320 mm diameter semi-floating disc on the front and four-piston radial-mount Monoblock caliper, and a 260 mm diameter disc on the back with a double piston calliper.
The Leocino also features 17” aluminium alloy rims running 120/70-17 and 180/55-17 rubber – so tyre choice won’t be an issue, a 15l tank capacity, LED headlight, and TFT dash.
The Leoncino 800 will be available in Benelli dealerships across Australia & New Zealand in the first half of 2022 with pricing to be announced closer to the release date
