Australian Motorcycle Festival organisers have confirmed Hot Wheels father and son stunt team Matt and Maddox ‘Madz’ Mingay will entertain crowds in Wollongong at both the festival (Lang Park) and Round 3 of the Australian Supercross Championship (WIN Stadium) on November 9-10.
The inaugural festival, which will showcase the latest motorcycles, scooters, ATV’s UTV’s, electric bikes, trikes and jet-ski’s promises to deliver a huge weekend of entertainment with the popular Hot Wheels duo to perform on both two and four wheels.
Matt will perform his renown street bike stunts on-board his custom Harley-Davidson 1200 Nightster while 12-year-old Madz will take to the bitumen to showcase his talents on-board his custom 150cc YCF.
The duo will swap from two wheels to four wheels as they go off-road to see who reigns supreme on the purpose-built supercross track within Win Stadium.
Matt, who has been performing stunts for over 20 years, has also worked as a stunt double in movies such as Mission Impossible 2 and lays claim to three Guinness World Records.
Twelve-year-old Madz who has been performing alongside his dad for the past two years said he was excited to be performing at the same event as Robbie Maddison and issued a cheeky challenge to the stuntman.
“Over 20,000 people are expected to attend the Festival and a further 20,000 for the Supercross,” Madz said. “I can’t wait to beat dad in my Hot Wheels buggy in front of so many people.
“What’s pretty cool is Maddo (Robbie Maddison) has been a 007 stuntman and Dad has been a Mission Impossible stuntman and they will both performing at each event. We should make them go head-to-head 007 v’s Mission Impossible.”
Visitors to the festival will be able to meet and greet both guests, visit the Hot Wheels semi-trailer and check out all the real-life Hot Wheels toys when they are not in action.
The Australian Motorcycle Festival moves away from the traditional exhibition style show (previously known as Sydney Motorcycle Show) to provide greater interaction for visitors to the event with over 20,000sqm of outdoor space hosting displays, entertainment and activations.
Tickets to the Australian Motorcycle Festival will be available at the gate.
