A new education based safety campaign has been launched by VicRoads in an attempt to combat motorcycle fatalities.
The ‘Every Second – Always On’ campaign focuses on crucial crash contributors such as speed, cornering, road positioning, road hazards and other road users.
The campaign encourages riders to brush up on their rider skills and knowledge via an online quiz. The quiz has been developed to test and refresh motorcyclists’ knowledge of safe riding behaviour and road rules while encouraging riders to participate in continued education on road rules and rider behaviour.
Motorcyclists represent less than 4% of registered vehicles, but with 28 riders and their passenger losing their lives this year, they represent a whopping 19% of deaths on Victorian roads this year.
