Developed in direct response to rider feedback, Indian has announced new technology features to improve performance and comfort, as well as versatility for customising.
The changes will first be seen on the 2019 Chief, Springfield and Roadmaster models, while the Dark Horse range gets premium gloss black finishes and expanded colour options on the Springfield Dark Horse.
All will be available later this year.
Highlights include three new Ride Mode options that are adjustable on the fly – Tour, Standard or Sport – to suit varying road conditions.
To increase rider comfort in traffic jams, all Thunder Stroke 111 models also now boast Rear Cylinder Deactivation when the engine reaches operating temperature and the ambient temperature exceeds 15°C. This cylinder reactivates when the throttle is taken off idle.
The lower bodywork on the 2019 Roadmaster provides significantly more airflow to the rider, with a redesign incorporating a fully adjustable vent. The new lowers can be retrofitted to previous models with the addition of new highway bars.
Sound quality has been improved in the standard audio system. Now, as speed increases, the system adjusts to compensate for road, wind and engine noise.
A range of accessories will be announced shortly.
