The inaugural Kenny Blake Festival of Motorcycling hasn’t been affected by the date change of this year’s MotoGP. Originally, the Strathalbyn & Lakes Tourist Association thought the event’s timing – 27 October 27 and Blake’s birthday – would encourage MotoGP goers to call in on their way. Now it falls on the same day as the MotoGP, but has taken on a life of its own.
Ride-outs, an official dinner, show ’n’ shine, swap meet and trade fair, plus the unveiling of a memorial sculpture, make this a true motorcycle festival on some of Australia’s best riding roads.
The festival will be held in Blake’s birthplace, Strathalbyn, in South Australia and the MotoGP action will be beamed onto the big screen at the local footy club. Visit www.kennyblakestrathalbyn.com.au for more information.
