Competing in the event’s new ‘Class E’ – for ‘New Concept Bikes and Prototypes’ – the firm took two of the top three places, including overall victory.
Both machines were designed at Ducati’s own Design Center, so can be seen as an insight into the thoughts of the firm’s styling department. Interestingly, they both took existing Scrambler models and updated them to strip out their retro themes and give them a more modern look.
The overall winner of Class E was the Concept Café Racer (left) while the Concept Desert Sled (right) took third place. Second was snatched by Husqvarna’s Vitpilen 401 Aero, which was revealed last November at the EICMA show.
As well as winning its class, the Café Racer concept also took the public vote to win the new Villa Erba trophy.
