Doncaster based Motobreakers Racing have signed former Grand Prix star Arthur Sissis to contest the 2017 Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship alongside Cameron Lee and Daniel Drayton, with Keenan Armstrong penning a new deal with the team that will see him move into the Dickies British Supersport Championship
Following a positive 2016 season where South Yorkshire’s Keenan Armstrong finished third in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship, following a hat full of podiums and one race win, the teenager has now been granted a move into the Dickies British Supersport Championship on board the Kawasaki ZX6-R.
The team have also secured the signature of the former Australian Moto3 star Arthur Sissis, who will contest for the 2017 Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship. Speedway star Arthur made his name in Australia by taking multiple National Speedway Championship’s before turning his hand to road racing.
The Adelaide born man finished the 2011 Red Bull Rookies Cup in second place, thrusting himself in the Moto3 Championship for 2012 riding for the Red Bull KTM Ajo outfit, taking a dream podium at his home race behind current MotoGP star Alex Rins.
Following time away from the track, reverting to his native Speedway, Sissis will join Shaun Rose’ team for 2017, aiming to win the Championship.
Sissis will be joined by Cameron Lee for the up and coming season, after showing great potential in his first full season last year in the Superstock 600 class. Lee completed the first half of 2016 with the team before joining forces with the official Kawasaki team for the final few rounds of the Championship. The Derbyshire man had penned a year deal with the team, aiming to build on his impressive debut season.
Finally, the line-up will be rounded out with Lincolnshire youngster Daniel Drayton moving to the strong squad from the European Junior Cup to contest in his first full season in the Superstock 600 Championship.
Drayton joins Sissis and Lee in the team Superstock 600 outfit looking to build on his already impressive career, aiming to consistently finish within the points and help in his team’s quest for the 2017 Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship assault.
A delighted Team Owner Shaun Rose expressed: “We are delighted to announce what we believe to be an extremely strong line up for the 2017 season, and we can’t wait to get started.
“Last season Keenan impressed us all with his maturity and his confidence on board the bike. He listened to the advice we gave him and he constantly improved, and the win at Cadwell Park showed that. We as a team believe he’s strong enough to run at the front in Supersport, and we will give him the tools to do the job.
“Like always, we will be running again the Superstock 600 championship with a very strong line up. Arthur needs no introduction; he has the ability to go and win races and challenge for the title. He’s a great kid and we can’t wait to welcome him to England and get started testing.
“Cameron rejoins the team after a successful debut season, he knows the Championship and the tracks now and we expect him to be running in the points every race weekend, and by the end of the year challenging Arthur for the podium, because there is no reason why he can’t.
“And finally we are delighted to welcome Daniel to the team, he’s had two season the EJC Championship which will stand him well for this year. All we expect from Daniel is consistency, it’s a learning year for him and all we can ask for is that he builds on each weekend and enjoys his first year in the Championship.
“Testing will get underway for us very soon, all the numbers look very good from the dyno runs we have done, and we can’t wait to get underway, bring on the season!”
